This is my very first post on the blog and what better way to start it than with Oreos?! Like Kit-Kats, Japan has a lot of neat and exclusive Oreo flavors. This is one of the newest - the Blueberry Oreo Soft Baked Cookie. It's an Oreo sandwich cookie with cream and blueberry filling, which gives a twist on the traditional flavor.
The back of the package is simple and just shows basic product info and the nutrition, which isn't bad! Only 66 calories per cookie.
Inside the bag are 10 individually wrapped cookies.
The cookie is about 1 inch. Not very big, but enough to get a good taste~
When opened up into two halves, you can see the cream filling and the small blueberry jam filling in the center. :D It isn't a lot, but it does help to flavor it.
Taste
It tastes what you would imagine a soft Oreo cookie to taste like, with a hint of blueberry flavor. I know there were soft Oreos in the US at some point (I don't know if there still are) and these pretty much taste the same, just slightly less sweet. There is only a small hint of blueberry flavor. It is actually kinda disappointing because they aren't very berry tasting. Rather, they just taste like a light chocolate cake with a little bit of cream, but even the cream isn't really noticeable.
Scent and Texture
It has a faint chocolate scent. It is a somewhat moist chocolate cake, but slightly on the dry side. The texture is smooth and cake-like. It isn't really a cookie. It's more like a miniature snack cake.
Repurchase?
If I lived in Japan, I might buy them every once in a while, but I'm not going to go out of my way to buy these again. :(
Overall Rating
5 out of 10. Not anything memorable. They taste good, but they aren't actually anything special. Pretty average!
